DMT Launches “Low-Carbon Rice Farming” Initiative to Support the Environment and Local Communities, Advancing Low-Carbon Agriculture
Don Muang Tollway Public Company Limited (DMT) has launched its “Low-Carbon Rice Farming” initiative at a pilot paddy field in Wat Yom Subdistrict, Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. The project aims to promote environmentally friendly agriculture, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and strengthen engagement with local communities.
The initiative was led by Dr. Sakda Panwai, Managing Director, together with DMT executives and employees, who joined forces to sow rice across a 20-rai pilot area. The project uses Pathum fragrant rice varieties and follows the Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) method, while also incorporating drone technology for rice seeding to improve efficiency, reduce resource consumption, and support the production of low-carbon rice.
This marks another important step for DMT in advancing its ESG approach and moving concretely toward its Net Zero goals.
