DMT Launches the Pilot Project “Low-Carbon Rice Farming: Advancing Environmental Sustainability and Quality of Life”

Don Muang Tollway Public Company Limited (DMT) continues to advance sustainability efforts with the launch of a pilot project titled “Low-Carbon Rice Farming: Advancing Environmental Sustainability and Quality of Life.” The initiative promotes Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) rice cultivation, aiming to reduce water usage, lower greenhouse gas emissions, support chemical-free farming, and increase income opportunities for local farmers.

The project is being implemented on a 20-rai pilot site located in Wat Yom Subdistrict, Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, under the core concepts of:

Tollway Better Way – Enhancing Quality of Life

Tollway Green Way – Enhancing the Environment and Society

To ensure effective implementation, DMT has officially signed a project agreement with Net Zero Carbon Company Limited, the project’s developer and operator. In addition, SPIRO CARBON LTD. has joined as a technical partner, supporting the project through its advanced digital Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) system, which uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) and satellite imagery to accurately and transparently assess carbon reduction results.

This initiative represents a significant step forward for DMT in its mission to become a leader in sustainable development. It aligns with the company’s Decarbonization Roadmap and its commitment to achieving Carbon Neutrality by 2050. DMT has already begun installing solar panels, contributing to a reduction of over 348 tons of CO2e per year.

DMT has also been recognized with a “AA” SET ESG Rating in the services sector by the Stock Exchange of Thailand, and continues to create positive impacts across Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) dimensions in collaboration with partners from all sectors.
