DMT Joins Rice Harvest from Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) Fields to Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Promote Environmental Sustainability

Dr. Sakda Panwai, Managing Director of DMT, together with the management team, employees, local farmers, and representatives from the District Agricultural Office, participated in harvesting Pathum Thani 1 fragrant rice under the project “Low-Carbon Rice Farming: Advancing Environmental Sustainability and Quality of Life” at Wat Yom Subdistrict, Bang Pa-in District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

The project adopts the Alternate Wetting and Drying (AWD) rice cultivation method, which helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions associated with continuous flooding in rice fields while improving water-use efficiency. The approach has also enabled farmers to achieve their targeted paddy rice yields.

DMT believes that sustainability cannot be achieved through individual efforts alone. Rather, it requires collaboration among all stakeholders to create a lasting balance between economic growth, social well-being, and environmental stewardship for a sustainable future.
